Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.

Angel gave birth to a beautiful solid silver bay colt on Monday, May 31, 2010. Everything seemed fine at first, but both Angel and the colt had to be transferred to an emergency equine veterinary facility for immediate care. After 36 hours, it was clear that the colt had some unique complications that could not be overcome.
Gabriel passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010.
My heartfelt thanks to Jane and Lucy of Field of Dreams Miniature Horses and to the amazing crew of veterinarians and veterinary students that did their best to keep Gabriel with us. We are very thankful that Angel had no complications at all and will be able to have foals in the future. Angel will return to pasture at Field of Dreams to fully recover.
We are excited about trying again for another foal when the time is right.

(Candlelight Acres veteran "Kyley's Candlelight" turned 25 years YOUNG in 2009!)
What's in store for Candlelight Acres? Who knows! Please note - we are no longer located in Pennsylvania!
(UPDATE - In April 2010, Deb underwent ankle surgery #7 - this time with a cadaver transplant hamstring to replace the worn-out tendons and ligaments that have been repaired so many times (thank God for modern technology and bio-degradable screws!). Unfortunately, that will delay her return to the show ring by several months. She hopes to be at the AMHR Nationals in September 2010 pending doctor release - keeping fingers crossed, hoping to be walking again by July or August!)
If you are not an Organ Donor - please become one!
Although Deb's ankle transplant was a 'blind' transplant, someone out there made the ultimate sacrifice to donate their organs and tissues to those in need! Deb has been an Organ Donor since she turned 16 and got her first license - please consider making this choice in your own lives!
Thanks to the wonderful and meticulous care of Deb's doctor and chiropractor (for well over a year!) to help with head, neck, shoulder and rib cage injuries from a horse-related accident, there may be a chance that she gets to ride, train, and show again!
